Time stands still…when you are selling a house!

We are officially OVER the love of the last house we didn’t get. As many of you may know, it was a Foreclosure that was going to cost an additional Hundred Grand in repairs…that’s right 100 Thousand ADDITIONAL dollars in repairs.  uh….no!

What we found instead is a Cape Cod circa 1930 that sits on 3 acres near a lake-Dreamy OR a Turn-of-the-Century Country Cottage that sits on 5 acres.  Difficult choice.

Both are priced the same. The Cape Cod has zero closets and 1 bath ( no shower) and the Cottage has a commercial potential on a growing thoroughfare.   We decided on the cottage because of its commercial potential (hello, yarn store).

We have a contract and will be inspecting tomorrow. This would be a perfect home for us.

Side note:  we just learned that our 18-year-old will not be coming with us. He has decided to live with our daughter in a nearby college town and attend college. Happy news  to receive on Mother’s day.  Motherhood:The one job that fires you when you are a success! 🙂  Still, I am  happy that he will be there to protect my sweet girl and that she will help him to keep his wits during his launch.

Okay, so now the challenge is selling the house we are in currently. We are in a very favorable location.  The downside is the size of the backyard. (Read: too small for chickens).

I am so ready to move on.  I would appreciate any good vibes from anyone reading. St. Joe is still upside down, but we are hopeful that with 3 showings today, it will sell soon.

I will keep update coming.  Especially updates about our AWESOME plans for our new commercial location!!  Fingers crossed.

In the meantime I am reading so many fantastic blogs for inspiration.  One of my favorites is this one.  Thanks boys.  You give me strength!

Eleanor
